METZ COCK MAGNUM CAPES

These are extremely large capes (up to 14" long) which Metz have bred
to produce very fine hackle stems and an amazing number of hackles from small (14) dry fly to Super large Salmon & Sea Trout hackles. The very best of currently produced capes, we doubt if anything can be produced better. Not in stock all the time as they are in limited supply
but we have first choice from our supplier when new batches arrive.

Colours: Black, Blue, White, Chartreuse, Olive, Orange, Pink, Yellow, Grizzle, Grizzle dyed Orange or Pink or Yellow or Olive.

These are also huge capes but with longer fibred slim hackles than standard saddles.

Note:  Probably more useable hackles on the cock capes than any other cape you have seen.

METZ COCK CAPES

Very famous name in genetically produced cock necks.  These are very large capes which contain hundreds of perfect hackles in a full range of sizes from minute dry fly to large lure sizes. The hackles are very long and slim. All the capes are genuine grade 3, higher grades are available
but there is very little difference in the quality.

We usually have the following colours in stock:
Black, Dun (Enquire), Grizzle, White, Badger, Ginger, Brown.

Note: Dry fly quality capes, the larger hackles can be dyed or used for
           Salmon fly patterns.

VENIARD PREMIUM COCK CAPES

Newly available genetic necks from USA of outstanding quality and will
fill a gap left by the currently nearly unavailable Indian and Far Eastern necks. The shape of the individual feathers is unusual for genetics in so far as they have a taper more in keeping with Indian hackles. The capes are well endowed with a wide range of hackle sizes.

Available in the following colours:
White, Grizzle, Black, Brown, Orange, Red, Teal Blue, Claret, Yellow, Medium Olive, Golden Olive, Grizzle Dyed Olive, Grizzle Dyed Brown, Medium Blue Dun.

WHITING AMERICAN COCK SADDLES

These larger than life full saddles are superb for lures, salmon and sea trout flies. Consistant in shape and size, each cape has plenty of hackles through a wide range of sizes including the large schlappen hackles which are ideal for use as beard hackles or Shrimp fly tail hackles.

INDIAN COCK NECKS

Before the Genetic birds were bred the Indian necks were the only ones available. They are still here at very low cost, looking at them carefully
the hackles are just about as stiff as genetics but not as many on a cape. Use a good flotant and the fly will float just about the same as a genetic hackle. Not large capes, not as many hackles but cheaper. If you don't
consider good value - send back (we will even credit your normal postage cost).

Golden Olive, Iron Blue, Orange, Brown, Medium Olive, Scarlet, Yellow, Cream, Green Highlander.

METZ MICROBARB SADDLE CAPES - Grade 2

The advantage of the Microbarb saddle is that the hackles are a little slimmer and will usually tie down to a smaller hook size, usually up to
16 with a bit of luck. But really if you tie tiny 18 plus sizes you should
really be looking for neck capes which in the higher grades yield tiny hackles. If your need is only for a few hackles then just ask, let us know what you need and we will look in our fly tying room.

Colours which are bred: Black, Brown, Cream, Ginger, Grizzle, Dun.

Colours in Black are usually in stock, to clarify; colours in red have been in stock but are dependant on supply, we have been a customer of the importer for some 40+ years and do get priority on batches of capes available.

Mainly long slim hackles from 5" to 12" for size 8 to 14 dry flies, also for palmering and using on Frances Shrimps etc. Great for Daddys, Bushy Dries, Dapping Flies and the Riffler Sub/Surface Tubes.
