Top quality British bred Hen necks with hackles from size 18 up to sea trout and medium salmon size.
Very fine hackle stalk and dyed by Chevron Hackles in brilliant colours.

These are Hen Capes in the  Distinction class.    None better

Nice quality Hen necks with plenty of hackles right down to size 18. Ginger often scarce but other colours usually in stock.

We show an illustration of the Furnace to give an idea of the hackle quality.   Grade 2 soon to be discontinued, due to cost of feeding.

INDIAN HEN NECKS

About the size of a small hand these Indian Hen capes are very good value, they are not of course genetic but do contain a wide range of hackles. The Badger and Greenwells are usually quite nice capes.
Not as slim in the hackle stalk but two turns usually suffice for a wet fly.

DYED COCK / HEN BADGER NECKS

We are often asked for dyed Badger capes, these are Indian necks, not as large as the genetic variety and perhaps not as well marked as the more expensive but are good value producing lots of plumage. Often used for Shrimp fly patterns.
My wife dyes these capes and what a good job she does!

Large hackles for sea trout, salmon flies and lures etc. Use for shrimp
fly tails and pot belly pig tail hackles, useful for beard hackles on sea trout flies. Use a large brown hackle under GP rump hackle on shrimp
fly tails. These come to us strung from medium to large so you get
some of each per large packet.

We are pleased to have obtained these beautiful grizzled hackles, each pack contains an assortment of sizes of neck and saddle hackles, we have dyed these in various colours.

The Orange (dyed on Grizzle) makes a very fine Allys Shrimp hackle.
Use on Shrimp and salmon flies.
