At Tebay, on the Lune (when I was aged 9-10) I used to watch the locals fishing, some tied their own flies, one chap called Wappit, (and I never found out where he got the name from) whom I remember to his day gave me a pair of Owl wings to start fly tying.
This fisherman used to catch Sea Trout by the Score.
Owl wings were used to tie the Bustard range of flies.

Ties in much better than Teal. Makes superb folded or rolled wings.

Widgeon is a much saught after plumage in the larger sizes of flanks, each bird only produces 6 real flank feathers per skin. We have a good stock as at February 2010 of the real stuff.       £4.00 per Packet.
